Description
The Uwersi 57/8 was available in different versions, with and without indirect driven center second,
with or without date indication, with pin-lever or with pallet-lever escapement. The movement shown
here is the simplest model, with only a decentral second indication, pin-lever escapement and
two jewels - one on bottom of the balance wheel and one for the ellipse.
The flat nickel balance has got no screws, no long regulator arm and no shock protections, and
on its bearings, the cap jewels are made of steel.
The movement works are all below one big plate. On it's shape, you can already see, that this
base caliber was ready to be enhanced, like for example with
21 jewels, calendar and center second.
On the dial side, you see the familiar picture of a pin lever movement with a rocking bar
winding mechanism. Even the click mechanism is as simple as possible - it consists of a
single spring.
