Description
After WW II, mens' form movements were often used, but only for a short time.
Among them, there is the Uwersi Caliber 57/12 a probably late speciment of these
movements. It uses 25 synthetic rubis, which is really very, very much. Many of
the jewels are only cap jewels, some of even on position where are no gears
at all (at position "7").
The advantage of the form shape was, that a very large mainspring barrel could
be used, the disadvantage is, that there was a lot of unused space, you can see
on the lower left part of the movement.
Besides that, the movement uses a screw balance, which runs in rare Farr-II
shock proection system, and an indirect driven center second hand. Due to the
size of the movement, only a tiny date disc with small letter could be used, and
there was no quickset feature for the date.
