Description
The large caliber 060a1 with a diameter of 12 lignes belongs to the late area of
Kienzle's movement construction. It was produced in the early seventies.
Construction-wise it resembles very much the (smaller) caliber
059. Like there, it uses a classical
construction with a true second wheel at position "6" (which would allow a subsecond
hand there) and an indirectly driven center second.
On the dial side, you find the familiar rocking bar winding mechanism. The unusual large
and slim three-leg balance is beared in a pointed staff without shock protection. She
controls with movement with a pin lever escapement.
So far this movement is nothing really special, but there's one detail, which makes it
standing out of the mass of simple pin lever movements: The pins aren't made of metal but
of synthetic rubies. The advantage of this patented technology is, that she is cheap but
also much more reliable and precise.

Another detail at the end: In these movement, seven jewels are used. Interestingly, they are
all integrated into the visible top plate, which gives this movement a "better" appearance.
