Description
1954, Förster launched their first selfwinding movement, Cal. 80. The 11 1/2 ligne
movement uses a center rotor, which winds the movement in both direction over a rocker
mechanism with a long idle running (almost 90 degrees). It uses a center second and a
screw balance, which runs in a Kif-Trior shock protection system.
This movement uses the traditional clutch mechanism for setting the time. Due to cost
saving reasons, only one year later, the successor, Cal. 800, was launched, which used
a cheaper rocker mechanism.
