Description
The movement shown here is a Bifora 68, which was although having the same
caliber number, available in two different versions: One
without date indication, and the other one, shown here,
with date indication.
Additionally, this movement was used by Dugena under their caliber number Dugena 709.
It is a noteable movement, since it displays the date but has got no second hand. This
is pretty rare to find on other movements.

Visually, this form movement is very much appealing due to its red-gold coloring, technically,
it was a very modern movement in the early sixties.
The screw-less ring balance is locate in two inhouse Bishock bearings and controls a classical
pallet-anchor movement with very tiny gears. They are so small to give the balance and mainspring
barrel as much space as possible.
The effective length of the hairspring is set by a long regulator arm.

|
On the dial side, as usually seen on Bifora movements, there's just a rocking bar winding
mechanism used, but the click spring, which is also located on the dial side, is an elaborate
one.
 |
| date mechanism |
|
The date mechanism contains an indicator steering wheel, which has got a spring mechanism
on its top, although it is very small. This allows a semi-fast correction of the date by turning
the hands back and forth. On normal usage, the date advances slowly.
