Bauer H.F. 8 3/4

| Bauer H.F. 8 3/4''' |
|
Description
The unmarked 8 3/4 ligne caliber by H.F.Bauer gives the looks of an old pocket watch
movement with its swinging brigdes and was probably made in the 1940ies or even earlier.
It has got a non-shock-protected balance with screws, which regulates a pallet anchor movement.
The speciality of this movement is, that non of its axles, not even the escapement axle is beared
in rubies, but they all run in metal bushings, which are pressed into the bridges and cocks.
On the dial side, you see the old "HFB" marking, the rest of this movement with yoke winding
system is pretty much standard, the only noteable detail is the setting lever spring, which has
got only two holes - a fact, which makes the identification, of the not further marked
movement pretty easy.
